JOHN GLYNN (Vocals, Guitar and Musical Director)
was born in 1948 and lived in London. He was ordained priest in 1974. He has always taken a lively interest in liturgical music. Since his resignation from active ministry in 2010 he continues his involvement in music ministry.
Fran McEvoy [aka Francesca Leftley]
(Vocals and Keyboard) took up church
music at 15. She teaches music and "gifted and
talented" children.
Jim McEvoy (Guitar and backing vocals)
has recently retired as a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Anglia Ruskin University, and has played guitar from his teens. The couple met in their parish music group and have played together ever since! They have three sons (all musicians).
Maria Zurek (Keyboard and Arranger)
is from Krakow, Poland. She is a music teacher, pianist and organist who qualified at the Krakow College of Music. She developed her musicianship at the Krakow Academy of Music, attaining her Master of Music degree in 1995. A professional tutor, performer and choir conductor, she also worked as a hospital music therapist for children before moving to the UK in 2006. She is married and has one child.
Christine Thomas (Vocals and Guitar) was born in Barking where she first joined the church folk group. She first sang with Fr John as a teenager. A champion majorette with national stage and TV appearances in the 70’s, she has recently retired as a police detective, having joined Essex Police in 1985. She met Clive Thomas in 1981 and they have 3 daughters, a son and 4 grandchildren.
Mandy Harman (Flute and backing vocals)
has played the flute for 25 years. Her love of music started very young, continued throughout her life and opened many doors for her. She plays at Wickford parish church. She describes herself as the mother of three gorgeous children.
Her sister, Claire Plunkett (Clarinet) has been playing the instrument for 25 years. She works in hospitals and hospices specialising as a Consultant in Palliative Medicine. She is married to Malcolm. They are expecting their second child.
